What is PDO?

Lower face lifting with HD-PDO (High Density PDO) threads is called “a soft surgical face lifting” because the process is much less invasive but gives as if one had a soft surgery. This procedure needs topical numbing only. There maybe mild discomfort, mild swelling, and small bruising. One can see some immediate lifting, but the main lifting starts in 1-2 months when enough collagen has formed around the threads. The lifting continues to improve for about 6 months and lasts 18-24 months. Since the HD-PDO thread is high density and thinner than other PDO threads, no thick metal cannula is needed and therefore there is less trauma to the tissue. The threads are U- shaped and the barbs are bi-directional. This allows stronger anchoring of the threads in the tissue and prevents puckering.
