The advantages of combining Ultherapy with Scarlet (Radiofrequency plus Micro-needling) are being noticed by more and more providers, as the need for a better non-surgical face and the neck-lifting system is always in demand. While Ultherapy and Scarlet are both excellent skin-lifting and tightening systems, they work synergistically – when both are used and compensate each other.
Here are some of the advantages:
• They work on different depths of the skin. Scarlet in the epidermal and dermal area (upper or outer layer), while Ultherapy mostly in dermal, connective tissue, fat, and muscle area (inner or deeper layers).
• Pain is more in the case of Ultherapy than Scarlet, which is probably related to the depth of the treatments. It makes better sense to treat the areas that have thinner skin with shallow muscle and fat with Scarlet rather than Ultherapy, which can reduce the overall pain.
• For the persons who need to preserve facial and neck fatty tissue, such as most middle-aged persons with volume deficit, Ultherapy should be applied only where muscle-tightening is desired without possible fat loss. The areas where one wants to preserve fat should be treated with Scarlet rather than Ultherapy. A combination allows more tailored treatments.
• Currently, Scarlet treatment is much cheaper than Ultherapy due to the expensive consumables for the latter. However, Scarlet treatment is typically recommended for three-five times a month, whereas Ultherspy is recommended only once annually. Combining both treatments goes a long way in saving costs and time.
The Jowl and under chin area are often better treated with Ultherapy than Scarlet due to its deeper tightening close to the muscle. Fat conservation in these areas are not often called for.
The mid face is typically better treated with Scarlet than Ultherapy as fat conservation in this part of the face can make a person look younger.
